I have read. I have listened. I have an opinion, but for some reason I have been lazy of late. I just knew someone would see things as I do and I could just link. She does, she did and here it is:
A Glamor Girl Gone Bad: I am a nurse. Next week - a vet
I have an opinion on Weale-Gate. I’ll deliver it now, before I hand the university my money and next week become a full fledged registered nurse

That is the first time I read that attendance was not even taken. There seems little else to say. He has abandoned his students.

CG hits the nail right on the head. You might not care a lot whether the guy flipping the burger really sat through Weale’s class and then proved he had learned about the history of Christianity by some demonstration of knowledge (exam, thesis), but I’d prefer to know my surgeon actually had gone through his anatomy class and the engineer designing the bridge I’m driving over really had attended the classes on calculating load-bearing properties. I imagine Weale would too. So is he positing that academic integrity and the related quality of resultant credentials really are divisible, and that for an an arts degree, it really doesn’t matter? Reminds me of the old uni graffito over the toilet paper dispenser: “Sociology degrees. Please take one.”

I will reserve my opinion on Cool Girl’s thoughts until I have had the opportunity to consult with other members of the “Arts Community”. I am, as she helpfully points out, unable to come up with anything independently.
It would help if she sang something, or drew a picture or wrote a book. Then I would know I was compelled to defend her to the death. Because of course, that’s the only criteria I use in considering any issue.

um, I HAVE sung a song. Several times. As recently as this morning, in fact.
Plus, I drew a picture just last night.
